Combining aggressive vocals, down-tuned riffs and crushing melodies with a groove that's guaranteed to get your head banging, The Overthrone from Stockholm put their own stamp on the Swedish melodic death metal tradition by blending influences from modern thrash and groove metal.
The band debuted in 2018 with the acclaimed EP The Plague followed by their full-length debut Bloodmoon in 2021. Since then, the band has played several shows throughout both Sweden and Europe. Most notably at Wacken Open Air after winning Wacken Metal Battle Sweden in 2022. In 2025 came their first new release since Bloodmoon in the form of the stand-alone single Bug Hunt.
On stage, The Overthrone are a tight, well-oiled machine of crushing riffs and soaring melodies. With their energetic crowd engagement and relentless intensity, they always bring a tightly executed live show that never fails to ignite the crowd.
